Happy Labor Day. The fisheries management summer break is over and the next round of the fight to install regulations on the Atlantic Herring Mid Water Trawl Fleet is now. We are ramping up for the New England Council Vote to send Amendment 5 out for Public Comment. HBC will soon send out our list of ways you can take action. Please help us protect the baitfish that fuel our New England fisheries.

Honest By Catch has just confirmed that this afternoon, The National Resources Defense Council filed a Petition to list River Herring (Alewife & Blueback) as "Threatened" under the Endangered Species Act.  We are currently investigating the details of this very significant event and will post a report on Tuesday Evening.  Check Back Often

Honest By Catch is expanding to include information on industrial fishing that effects anyl forage or bait species on the East Coast.  All fishermen know..."It's All About The Bait"!!!!

The HBC Awareness Tour made it's last stop on the spring fishing show circuit this past weekend at the MA Striped Bass EXPO in Plymouth MA.  At the end of the show we drew our Awareness Network New Member Winners!!!!  Congratulations to Jerry Sawyer of Fitchburg & Peter Cahill of Abington.  Thanks to all for joining our Awareness Network at the shows this year!!
